Bacterial Filtration Efficiency of Different Masks

Face coverings, such as surgical masks and respirators, have an important role in preventing bacterial viral transmission, especially during a global pandemic like COVID-19. Therefore, to secure their availability, new manufacturers the use of novel materials must be encouraged. However, first properly tested for safety efficiency, required by relevant standard, valid specific region. All standards prescribe determination filtration efficiency (BFE) masks. In this study, we report establishment test method BFE face accordance with European standard EN 14683:2019, which 52 samples, each composed 3 5 subsamples, cloth masks, filters, mask materials. Forty-seven out samples reached above 75 %. Of these, 16 had % 95 %, 98 while 28 Our findings show that all provided some level protection, most met requirements national or market.
